Featured Speakers

Andres Bustamante

Corporate Social Responsibility Expert

Andres specializes in the processes to deliver solid and sound strategies of corporate social responsibility in the mining sector. He was born in Peru and moved to Canada in 1996 after obtaining an MBA from Eastern University in Pennsylvania.

Andres started his professional career as a management consultant with Price Waterhouse in Lima. After this he held progressively senior positions with oil & gas exploration companies and international development organizations.

In Canada, he worked with World Vision Canada as Regional Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, becoming deeply involved with sustainable social development processes and adapting corporate social responsibility strategies of large mining companies.

In 2010, he accepted the challenge to transform a socially distressed project into a $2.0 billion market capitalization with Torex Gold Resources in Southern Mexico.
